Lecavalier: Melrose wrong to blame players

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier disputes the claim of former coach Barry Melrose that a player revolt was responsible for his firing.

"Not at all," Lecavalier told the St. Petersburg Times when asked if the players had complained about Melrose to owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie. "We were not involved in any decisions. I don't think anybody went up there and talked to ownership about it. It was a surprise to everybody."
